THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO GETTING A BEAUTIFUL LAWN

Early Spring:

  • Apply pre-emergent once soil temp reaches 50 degrees.

  • Dethatch the lawn to get more oxygen and nutrients to the grass roots.

  • If needed: Overseed or patch dead/thin areas with grass seed once soil temp has reached 50-60 degrees.

  • Optional: Apply a crawling insect/grub preventer.

  • Apply fertilizer.

Late Spring:

  • If need: Apply a post-emergent if there are still weeds in the lawn.

  • Apply fertilizer.

Fall:

  • Core aerate lawn to get healthier soil and grass.

  • If needed: Overseed or patch dead/thin areas with grass seed once soil temp has dropped to 50-60 degrees.

  • Apply a post and pre emergent (you will get the best results with herbicides in the fall time.)

Year Long Practices:

  • Mow at least once a week.

  • Never cut more than 1/3 of the grass blade off at one time.

  • Don't leave grass clippings clumped up on top of lawn.

  • Mulch as often as possible to give grass natural nitrogen (fertilizer).

  • Keep mower blades sharp and mower deck clean.

  • Water lawn to keep the grass growing and healthy.
